Due to our boutique styled swim instruction and small class sizes, some swimmers may swim with others who are slightly older or younger. Our skills-driven curriculum allows for continued learning by all students in every class even with others of different ages and skill levels.
BEGINNER vs. ADVANCED – The first priority of PowerPacked Swimming is SAFETY. All of our classes concentrate on proper Breath Control and Body Position in the water, and we focus 1st on navigating the water on our backs (to maintain the ability to breathe without interruption).
All students in Beginner classes practice submerged exhalation but do not work on any front strokes (Freestyle/Front Crawl, Breast Stroke, Butterfly) until having mastered breath control and body position for the 3 back strokes (Elementary Back, Rudimentary Back, Olympic Back).
All Beginner Students start with learning to Jump into the water; Flip to their backs; and Float safely in the pool. Beginners then learn to navigate & exit the water. They then progress through the 3 back strokes (Elementary Back; Rudimentary Back; Olympic Back).
Advanced Swimmers are all working on their front strokes (Freestyle/Front Crawl, Breast Stroke, and Butterfly).
